Visa Application Fees
To apply for a visa, you will have to pay a visa fee and a service fee.
The visa fee is collected on behalf of the Consular Authority and the service fee is collected for the processing of your visa application at TLScontact.
To apply for a visa, you will have to pay:
- Visa fee - collected for the of the Consular Authority for the application processing;
- Service fee - collected for the processing of your visa application at TLScontact.
These fees are payable to TLScontact visa application centre by debit or credit card (American Express cards are not accepted).The visa fee is collected for the Embassy of Belgium, in London for consideration of your visa application and the service fee is collected for the processing of your visa application at TLScontact.Credit / Debit card accepted for payments: MasterCard - Maestro - Visa - Visa Electron - Solo - VCB.
Please be advised that Prime Time are additional appointments allocated for out of standard working hours and for 7:30am and 8:00am slots only. Prime time appointments come at an additional cost of £79.74 per person and are non-refundable. Subject to availability. The Visa fees are not part of this primetime service, the visa fee is paid on the day of submission.
Attention: Payment of the visa fee and the service fee does not guarantee that a visa will be granted. The visa fee and the service fee are both non-refundable and non-transferable if the visa application is denied by the Embassy of Belgium, in London or if you decide to terminate your application.
Attention: Increased visa fees for short stay visa following the revision of the Schengen Visa Code, implemented for all Schengen States. Please note that as of February 2, 2020 the Schengen visa fee per visa application will increase from 60 to 90 euros (equivalent amount in local currency). For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 45 euros (or equivalent) and for the children between 12-18 years old the visa fee will increase to 90 euros. No change for other categories (Long Stay national visas, EU agreement). Visa for children under 6 years old and the family members of EU nationals remain free of charge.
All types of passports and categories of Gambian applicants are covered, except:
1) Children under 12 (art.16(2)bis Visa Code);
2) Gambian family members of an EU national to whom Directive 2004/38 applies and family members of a third-country national who enjoys a right of free movement under an agreement between the EU and one third country;
3) Without prejudice to cases in which the MS is linked to an international obligation (primarily when an international intergovernmental organization (NATO / EU for BE) has a headquarters agreement in the MS or when the MS hosts an international conference under the auspices of the United Nations);
4) Without prejudice to Article 16(6) of the Visa Code (< as a reminder: individual cases in which visa fees may be reduced or not collected to promote cultural, sporting, foreign policy, development, other areas of essential general interest, humanitarian considerations).

* The visa fee is only collectible in GBP, and may change as a result of currency fluctuation.
Discount availableThe visa fee is GBP 31.50 for:
- Countries with which the EU has a visa facilitation agreement: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kosovo, Cape Verde, Ukraine and for non-biometric passport holders of Albania, Bosnia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro and Serbia.
Exemption of visa fees:Please note the following exceptions and reductions apply:
- EU family members are exempted from the visa fee. You will need to provide proof of the relationship (e.g. marriage or birth certificate) to the EU national and a copy of their passport or national ID. The original marriage or birth certificate are not required to carry an apostille / legalisation but may be requested. If the original document is not in English, French or Dutch, an legalised / apostille certified translation must be provided. Documents issued by official UK authorities do not need to carry an apostille / legalisation.
- Children under 6 years of age are exempted from the visa fee for short-stay visa applications only.
The proof of partial or full fees exemptions must be submitted.
The visa application fee is fixed in euro but payable only in British Pounds. The exchange rate between these currencies is decided by the Embassy of Belgium, in London and is updated periodically, therefore the British Pounds amount you are requested to pay may differ from those quoted above. Please note that your visa application fee receipt will only quote the fee paid in pounds.
Service Fees
The service fee amounts to GBP 34.70 for any visa application submitted via TLScontact.This amount has been decided upon an agreement with the Embassy of Belgium in London and corresponds to the services provided by the TLScontact visa application centre:
- Appointment bookings;
- Welcome;
- Visa application reception;
- Information collection;
- Data processing;
- Transfer to the Embassy of Belgium in London;
- Reception and sorting of passports;
- Contact of applicants upon return of passports from the Embassy of Belgium in London;
- Handling telephone, online messages or email enquires of applicants by Call Centre.
Additional Fees
Those services are subject to the payment of additional fees:
- Photocopy: GBP 0.20 (per copy);
- Photo: GBP 10.00 / set;
- Assistance Visa On Web: GBP 15.00 per applicant.
