Important notice for applicants from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

Due to the Ebola outbreak, the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is temporarily closed to passenger traffic by land and air. As a result, applicants travelling from the affected provinces of the DRC are currently unable to submit their visa application at the TLScontact visa application centre in Kampala.

Please note the following:

Your TLScontact appointment confirmation does not grant you permission to enter Uganda.

Where can you submit your application?

According to the Belgian embassy in Kampala, residents of North Kivu and South Kivu may submit short-stay (type C) visa applications at one of the following locations:

  1. Centre Européen des Visas (CEV) in Kinshasa
  2. Consulate general of Belgium in Lubumbashi
  3. Embassy of Belgium in Bujumbura
  4. TLScontact visa application centre, Kampala
  5. TLScontact visa application centre, Nairobi

Residents of the DRC may submit long-stay (type D) visa applications only in the DRC.

However, applicants who are:

  • beneficiaries of a Belgian scholarship; or
  • family members of a recognised refugee or a person benefiting from subsidiary protection in Belgium,

may exceptionally submit their long-stay (type D) visa application at one of the following locations:
