Somali Family reunion visa applications

Since 1^st^ January 2019, all Somali visa applicants residing in Uganda wishing to apply for family reunion with a family member (a refugee or a person with subsidiary protection in Belgium) will have to submit their visa applications in Nairobi (Kenya). This is irrespective of your own personal status (refugee, resident, etc) in Uganda. Details on the visa procedure in Nairobi can be found on the website of the Embassy of Belgium in Kenya.

Since 2 May 2025, residents of Rwanda travelling to Belgium or Luxembourg can submit their visa applications (type C, short stay and type D, long stay) by TLScontact in Nairobi.

Residents of the provinces North Kivu and South Kivu (DRC)

Residents of North Kivu and South Kivu can submit their visa application (type C, short stay) in the following places:

Residents of DRC can submit their visa application (type D, long stay) only in DRC.
However, if they are beneficiaries of a Belgian scholarship or are members of the family of a recognized refugee ( or a person with subsidiary protection) in Belgium, they can exceptionally submit their visa application (Type D, long stay) also in the following places:
