TLScontact informs visa applicants of the introduction of a new service fee prepayment procedure, effective from 05 January 2026. 

After selecting an appointment date on the TLScontact website, a reservation email will be sent to the email address used during registration. 

Important: The appointment will be confirmed only after completion of the service fee prepayment, which must be made within three (3) working days following online appointment validation. 

Payment procedure 

To complete the prepayment, visa applicants must visit any Algeria Post office, and present: 

• the printed appointment reservation document, 

• showing the individual application reference number and the reserved appointment date. 

Failure to complete payment within the required timeframe may result in appointment cancellation.

• The data in your electronic application form can no longer be modified once you submit the application. This same data is used to schedule an appointment with TLScontact.

• When you submit your application in person at the TLScontact center, the following data will be verified. If there are any inconsistencies, you will be denied access.

• Therefore, please ensure that your personal data is correctly filled out in the Visa On Web application form. Only the form used to schedule the appointment will be accepted!

Additionally, please make sure to enter your correct phone number in the form. In case of proactive verification, an incorrect phone number will result in the cancellation of your appointment.

You have the right to appeal against the decision to refuse a short-stay visa.

The applicable rules for appealing a visa refusal decision are set out in the law of December 15, 1980, on access to the territory, residence, establishment, and expulsion of foreigners.

The Belgian Embassy is not competent to receive or process these appeals. Therefore, please do not copy them in your correspondence.A refusal decision cannot be reconsidered by the embassy.

All appeals must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the notification exclusively to this authority.

From the 13th of January, it will no longer be necessary to create a TLScontact account to book an appointment. All you need to do is create a VisaOnWeb, complete your form and then click on 'Book an appointment' to access the appointment table.

On 22 May 2024, the Official Journal of the European Union published Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/1415 of 14 March 2024 amending Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 as regards the amount of the visa fee, which you will find in the appendix.

This means that starting from 11 June 2024, the visa fee will increase from EUR 80 to EUR 90 for short-stay visas for adults and from EUR 40 to EUR 45 for short-stay visas for children aged 6 to 12 years.

The visa fee amount remains unchanged for countries benefiting from a visa facilitation agreement, staying at EUR 35, except for Cape Verde nationals, for whom the visa fee will increase from EUR 60 to EUR 67.50 for adults and from EUR 30 to EUR 33.75 for children aged 6 to 12 years.
