From 1 July 2026, the fee for long-stay visa (D visa) applications will increase to €250.

If you already have an appointment scheduled on or after 1 July 2026, the new fee will apply when you submit your visa application.

Please ensure that you pay the updated fee on the day of your appointment.

Any person entering Belgium for a short stay (up to 90 days within any 180-day period) must declare their presence within 3 days of arrival.

Since 10 April 2026, this declaration can be completed online through the electronic platform “My Address in Belgium” (MAB). It is no longer necessary to report your arrival to the municipal administration of your place of residence in Belgium.

Students are strongly advised to submit their visa application as early as possible, ideally before 30 July 2026.

Visa decisions may take up to 90 days from the date a complete application is submitted.

As enrolment deadlines for higher education institutions are set for 31 October, applicants should ensure their application is submitted in time to allow for processing.

On 22 May 2024, the Official Journal of the European Union published Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/1415 of 14 March 2024 amending Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 as regards the amount of the visa fee, which you will find in the appendix.

This means that starting from 11 June 2024, the visa fee will increase from EUR 80 to EUR 90 for short-stay visas for adults and from EUR 40 to EUR 45 for short-stay visas for children aged 6 to 12 years.

The visa fee amount remains unchanged for countries benefiting from a visa facilitation agreement, staying at EUR 35, except for Cape Verde nationals, for whom the visa fee will increase from EUR 60 to EUR 67.50 for adults and from EUR 30 to EUR 33.75 for children aged 6 to 12 years.

Note:If you have submitted your application at our center in El-Mohandseen and have not requested the courier service, and your passport is ready for collection; if you will collect it on or after the 3rd of March 2024, please visit us at our new location mentioned above.

With the onset of EG.5 virus, it is highly recommended during this period to:1. Keep physical distance of at least 1 metre from others, even if they don’t appear to be sick. Avoid crowds and close contact.2. Wear a properly fitted mask when physical distancing is not possible and in poorly ventilated settings.3. Clean your hands frequently with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.4. Cover your mouth and nose with a bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of used tissues immediately and clean hands regularly.
