Visa Application Fees
To apply for a visa, you will have to pay a visa fee and a service fee.
The visa fee is collected on behalf of the Consular Authority and the service fee is collected for the processing of your visa application at TLScontact.
To apply for a visa, you will have to pay:
- Visa fee - collected for the processing of your visa application at the Embassy of Belgium in Iraq;
- Service fee - collected for the processing of your visa application at TLScontact.
Attention: Payment of the visa fee and the service fees do not give any guarantee or right that a visa will be granted. The visa fee and service fee are both non-refundable and non-transferable if the visa application is denied by the Embassy staff or if the applicant decides to terminate his or her application.
Please note that under no circumstances a fee should be paid for making an appointment at the Visa Application Centre.

The visa fee is mandatory for all visa applications unless you are within the following exemption categories:
- Schoolchildren, students, doctoral students and accompanying teachers, who undertake study or educational stays;
- Third-country researchers travelling for scientific purposes;
- Holders of a diplomatic passport or a service passport, in case of reciprocity (not applicable on private trips);
- Representatives of non-profit organizations up to the age of 25 and participating in seminars, conferences or sporting, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations;
- Family members of a citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA) who makes use of his right to free movement (Directive 2004/38/EC);
- Family members of EU nationals (including those of Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) or Swiss nationals:
- The spouse or partner;
- Children under the age of 18;
- Children (+ 18 years) dependent;
- Dependent ascendants.
* The visa fee, only collectable in IQD, may change as a result of currency fluctuation.
The visa fee is fixed in EUR but payable only in IQD. The exchange rate between these currencies is decided by the Consular Authority and is updated periodically, therefore the amount you are requested to pay may differ from those quoted above.
The service fee, mandatory for any visa application, is EUR 44.00 / IQD 67.500. It is payable "online" during the appointment booking process. This amount has been decided in agreement with the Consular Authority and corresponds to the different services provided by the TLScontact centre (i.e. visa application reception, data processing, information collection, appointments booking, etc.).
