Temporary changes to Belgium visa services due to regional situation
3/6/2026
Due to the current regional conflict, the Embassy of Belgium has introduced temporary measures affecting visa services. These decisions are based on the limited ability to transfer documents between Iraq and Jordan.
Visa applications
- As of 5 March 2026, short-stay visa applications will no longer be accepted at TLScontact centres. Applications submitted before this date will continue to be processed normally by the Embassy.
- Long-stay visa applications will continue to be accepted. Passports will be returned immediately after the visa application file is submitted.
Legalisation services
- Legalisation requests will continue to be accepted. Documents will be forwarded to the Embassy once courier services resume. If legalisation documents are submitted together with a visa application, they will be added to the application file at a later stage.
Additional documents
- Applicants who have been requested to provide additional documents may continue to submit them at TLScontact centres.
Further updates
The Embassy of Belgium in Amman and TLScontact are working to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
Any updates will be published on the TLScontact website and the Embassy’s website.
