Important update – Biometric passports required for short-stay Schengen visa applications

Please note that the Belgian Embassy no longer accepts non-biometric Lebanese passports for short-stay Schengen visa applications, unless your travel dates (including your return date) are before 30 September 2026.
Applicants whose travel dates (including the return date) fall on or after 30 September 2026 must obtain a biometric Lebanese passport before submitting their short-stay Schengen visa application.
For long-stay visa applications, non-biometric Lebanese passports continue to be accepted.
We encourage all applicants to ensure that their passport meets these requirements before booking an appointment.
